For participants
Proactive Network is a Czech nonprofit organisation focused on non-formal education, Erasmus+ youth projects and international learning activities.
Our story started in 2014 with an informal group called Proactive Mind, founded by four young people who shared a proactive approach to learning and personal development. Over the years, more people with different backgrounds and areas of expertise joined the team, eventually forming Proactive Network.
Today, we design and organise Youth Exchanges, Training Courses, workshops and other non-formal learning activities for young people, youth workers and organisations from the Czech Republic and across Europe. Meet our team.
An Erasmus+ Youth Exchange is an international learning experience that brings together groups of young people from different countries to learn, share experiences and develop new skills through non-formal education.
Instead of traditional classroom lessons, Youth Exchanges use workshops, simulations, discussions, teamwork, outdoor activities and other experiential learning methods.
Under the Erasmus+ programme, Youth Exchanges normally last 5 to 21 days, excluding travel days, and participants can generally be between 13 and 30 years old. Individual projects may have a narrower target age group. See the official Erasmus+ Programme Guide for details.
You can apply for one of our open projects through the application form published on the individual project page.
Go to our Upcoming Projects section, choose a project that interests you and check its eligibility requirements, dates, location and participating countries. If applications are open, you will find an Apply now button there.
After applications close, participants are selected according to the criteria of the particular project. Selected participants then receive practical information about travel, accommodation, programme and preparation.
You do not apply for an Erasmus+ grant directly to the European Union as an individual participant. Youth mobility projects are organised through participating organisations (Erasmus+ Programme Guide).
No. You do not need to be a university or school student to participate in an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange.
Youth Exchanges are part of the youth section of Erasmus+ and are different from the university Erasmus study programme.
What matters is whether you meet the requirements of the particular project, such as your age, country of residence, motivation and connection to the project’s topic.
So even if you are working, looking for a job, taking a gap year or no longer studying, you may still be eligible.
Most essential costs of an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange are covered by Erasmus+ funding, but the exact conditions depend on each project.
For Proactive Network projects, accommodation, meals and programme activities during the official project dates are normally provided. Travel expenses are usually reimbursed up to a predefined limit.
If your journey costs more than the eligible reimbursement limit, the difference may need to be covered by you.
Always check the project page and infopack before booking your travel.
The Erasmus+ grant is designed to support travel as well as practical and activity-related costs connected with Youth Exchanges (Erasmus+ Programme Guide).
Yes, travel costs for our Erasmus+ mobility projects are normally reimbursed up to the maximum amount available for your journey under the specific project.
The reimbursement limit depends primarily on where you are travelling from and the applicable Erasmus+ funding rules.
Before buying tickets, always read the project’s infopack and follow our travel instructions. Keep all required tickets, invoices, boarding passes and other travel documents, as they may be necessary for reimbursement.
If you are unsure whether a particular connection or ticket is eligible, contact us before purchasing it.
Yes. For our residential Erasmus+ projects, accommodation and meals are normally arranged and covered for participants during the official activity dates.
The exact accommodation, meal arrangements, check-in times and other practical information are provided in the project’s infopack.
If you have dietary requirements, allergies or other needs, let us know in your participant or application form so we can prepare accordingly.
No. You do not need to speak perfect or fluent English to participate in most of our projects.
English is usually the working language because participants come from different countries, so you should be able and willing to communicate with others.
However, Erasmus+ projects are also a place to improve your communication skills. Making mistakes is completely normal, and activities are designed to encourage participation rather than test your grammar.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise on a project page, no English certificate is required.
Absolutely. First-time participants are welcome on our Erasmus+ projects.
You do not need previous Erasmus+ experience or special knowledge about non-formal education.
Before and during the project, we explain how everything works and guide participants through the learning process.
In fact, for many people, a Youth Exchange is their first international Erasmus+ experience.
You can find upcoming Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, Training Courses and other activities organised by Proactive Network in the Upcoming Projects section of our website.
Each project page includes information such as:
- dates and location,
- project topic,
- eligible countries and participants,
- accommodation and meals,
- travel reimbursement,
- application deadline,
- infopack and practical information.
If applications are currently open, you will see an Apply now option directly on the project page.
For partner organisations
If your organisation works with young people, youth workers or non-formal education, we are open to discussing Erasmus+ partnerships and other forms of international cooperation.
When contacting us, it is helpful to include:
- your organisation and country,
- your main areas of activity,
- your Erasmus+ experience,
- topics you are interested in,
- and whether you already have a specific project idea.
We are interested in building meaningful partnerships rather than simply collecting partner organisations for individual applications.
Interested in working with us? Contact us through our partnership form.
Yes. Proactive Network organises and hosts international non-formal education activities and Erasmus+ projects in the Czech Republic.
We work with international partner organisations and participants from different European countries and can cooperate on activities such as Youth Exchanges and Training Courses for youth workers.
Erasmus+ recognises Youth Exchanges as mobility activities for young people and training courses as one of the supported professional-development activities for youth workers (Erasmus+ Programme Guide).
If you are looking for a Czech partner or have a project idea you would like to develop together, contact us with a short description.

Yes. Our work with non-formal education is not limited to Erasmus+ projects.
We can also design and facilitate workshops and learning activities for organisations, nonprofits, companies and other groups in the Czech Republic.
Our approach is based on learning by doing. Rather than relying only on lectures, we use experiential activities, teamwork, reflection, discussion and practical exercises to help participants actively develop their skills.
If your organisation is looking for a workshop or a tailored non-formal learning programme, contact us and tell us what you would like your participants to learn or develop.
